Do you think music can interfere in your walk with Christ? &Does the Bible say anything about listening to gospel music? But also, how can I change my music that would be the simplest?
Hey! Sorry if it took me a while to answer back, I just returned from vacation this morning. Yes I do believe worldly music can interfere with our walk with Christ. I have not read anything saying specifically to listen to gospel, but here are some scriptures that apply to this situation: Romans 12:2, Phil 4:8, 2 Cor 6:14-17, Romans 10:17, Ecclesiastes 7:5-6, Mark 7:20-22 2 Cor. 4:4. Basically what we fill ourselves with is what we will be full of, and what we are full of is what we will desire and will eventually comes out of us. If we fill ourselves with the Word and things to do of the Spirit then our faith will grow( faith comes by hearing) but if we fill ourselves with things of the world then those things will grow in us. A few months after I gave my life to Christ, God had led me to get rid of all of my secular music. It was hard at first, but I lost desire for the things of this world so it no longer bothers me. Now when I hear old music I laugh at the fact I used to listen to it.. lol. For me a lot of the music I listened to was pretty bad and I didn’t realize at first, but I had actually idolized some of the artists. So this is definitely something you should talk to God about. If you would like to know some of the music I currently listen to I would be glad to share! Hope this helps a bit :D
